Pearl River Piano Company

Pearl River Piano Company, based in Liwan, Guangzhou,  is a 50 year old stated owned company. It was Chairman Mao himself who ordered to build a piano company, since he believed everybody should have a piano.
Nowadays Pearl River is the largest piano builder of the world, producing over 100.000 pianos per year and is also becoming one of the biggest guitar and violin maker. Since 2005 PR became partly an OEM of Steinway & Sons, to produce the Designed by Steinway & Sons brand, Essex.
