'China’s Need for small Northern European Friends'
A TOP VALUE publication about doing business
with China in the longer term
The Offical Shanghai Book Launch
by an 'Old China Hand' Mr. Frans van Gunsteren
Some personal views are given why the Dutch – and for that matter the Scandinavians or the Swiss – can do better than others in the match between what China needs in the longer term and what foreigners can offer. Moreover these small Northern European nations are culturally flexible and tolerant. Therefore "we" can seize our opportunities to cooperate with China.
These are some ideas Frans van Gunsteren introduces in his book on the future of Sino-European economic relations. Frans van Gunsteren, has 20 years of experience in the Far East, of which 10 were spent in China, including managing a major joint venture between Shell and the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) - the largest ever joint venture between the Chinese government and a foreign investor.
