Everything you wanted to know about Nuclear power in China and did not dare to ask.

Nuclear power has been taken into the national electricity development planning as an integral component of China’s national energy strategy. Which direction is given by the Five Year Plan concerning energy production with nuclear power plants? What will be the opportunity and trend for foreign companies to entry Chinese nuclear market?

Since 2005, China has approved 13 nuclear power projects with 34 reactor units and a generation capacity of 37.02 million kilowatts, according to the National Energy Administration, and more are in the pipeline. The country's development strategy for nuclear power during the period of the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) remains unchanged, despite Japan's ongoing nuclear crisis. It is estimated that between 2011 and 2015 the rate of increase in China’s installed nuclear capacity will be over 30%, from 2010 levels of 10.8GW to 43GW in 2015.

Mr. Arnaud Lefevre-Baril is Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner at Dynabond Powertech Service Co., Ltd. He has lived for 14years in China, with rich experience in the Nuclear Industry includes market intelligence, government lobbying and sales development.

As Senior Project Manager at Dynabond Powertech Service Co., Ltd., Mr. David Zhang worked in the Beijing Institute of Nuclear Engineering for 10 years, major in the nuclear power codes, standards, systems of Chinese Nuclear Power Plants and safety class components (valves, instruments).
