The Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China is delighted to invite you to a business event on March 15:
The New Investment Landscape in China and Abroad
There is growing speculation surrounding the future of foreign direct investment (FDI) in China. But a recent study "Serve The People" by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) suggests that China will continue to attract inward investment owing to the growing strength of its domestic market. Dr. Qian Liu of EIU will speak about the FDI expectations in China.
There are two major themes to watch for FDI into China: One is that FDI into China has become increasingly focused on the services sector, rather than on manufacturing. Secondly, FDI flows will continue to move inland to places such as Chongqing in search of both cheaper labour and faster-growing markets.
In this seminar we will not only talk about FDI, but also about Chinese Overseas Direct Investment (ODI). The A CAPITAL DRAGON INDEX has been launched to serve as the reference indicator of Chinese ODI and tracks the globalization rate of the Chinese economy since WTO accession in 2001. It will be published quarterly by A CAPITAL.
Mr. André Loesekrug-Pietri will tell more about the findings with the A Capital Dragon Index. The Dragon Index measures the growth rate of Chinese ODI stock relative to GDP and tracks Chinese ODI aggregated by type of investment (minority/majority), by type of investor (SOE/Private), by region of the world and by main reason for investment (resources/technology/brand/market access).
