Communicating with Europeans
Why?
Chinese and European colleagues increasingly work together in daily operations. Chinese staff members regularly communicate both with European managers and colleagues in the Chinese branch as well as in the European head office. Misunderstandings frequently arise due to different mindsets and expectations. These result in scrambled communication that negatively impacts business results and employee job satisfaction.
The training program “Communicating with Europeans” gives Chinese employees a better understanding of European cultures and the way they interact with Chinese culture. Participants get practical support to improve daily communication and operations.
Results:
Our training session will:
- Enhance understanding of European/Dutch cultures and their interaction with Chinese culture
- Speed-up effective communication with European/Dutch colleagues
- Save time and money due to misunderstandings
- Improve mutual cooperation between Chinese employees in the local facility and HQ
Training:
The program will be tailored to the practical questions and needs of the participants and can be adapted to specific questions or company requirements. The training can be conducted in English and/or Chinese, based on the level of English proficiency of the participants. Given the training goals, it is imperative that theexercises, at least, will have to be performed in English.
Participants will receive an attendance trainings certificate.
Trainers:
Mrs. Esther Janssen, managing director and senior trainer cross-cultural management & communication. Esther has been working on EU/Dutch and Chinese business and governmental relations since 1996. In 2009/2010 she participated in the EU-China Managers Exchange Program in Beijing. She has basic Chinese language skills and has been engaged in training and advisory services to several companies in China, such as Bencham/KLM, DSM, Fokker Elmo, Bluewater and Mindray Medical.
Mrs. Monique Groeneveld, senior cross-cultural trainer and Chinaexpert. Monique is based in Beijing and provides language and culture courses for Chinese managers and employees. Monique has longstanding and in-depth knowledge of Chinese culture and organizations, having worked for Chinese SOE’s such as CITIC for several years. In recent years Monique has been supporting companies such as DSM, Bluewater, Fokker e.o.
