The Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, together with AmCham and EUCCC, is delighted to invite you to a CSR event on September 20:
Sustainability Reporting: The What, How, and Why
Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) produces a comprehensive Sustainability Reporting Framework that is widely used around the world to promote organizational transparency. It sets out the principles and indicators organizations can use to report their economic, environmental, and social performance.
In China, such international frameworks fill an important governance gap and are gaining significant traction. Companies in China face increased scrutiny and stakeholder expectations in the wake of the development of an active consumer society and the rise of local social media. They are increasingly recognizing that sustainability reports are an important tool to communicate information on corporate environmental efforts and community impact. But how reliable are these reports, and how can sustainability reporting be improved in China?
Join AmCham-China’s Business Sustainability Committee, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China (BenCham), and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) on Thursday, September 20 as we welcome GRI Chief Executive Ernst Ligteringen and SynTao General Manager Dr. Peiyuan Guo. Mr. Ligteringen will update us on the business case for sustainability reporting and share his insights on the development of the Global Reporting Initiative, including the next generation of the GRI Reporting Guidelines (G4). Dr. Guo will share the research results of the report, “A Journey to Discover Values 2010 – A Study of Sustainability Reporting in China,” which discusses the status of sustainability reports in China.
