Tim Condon
Tim Condon is Managing Director and Head of Research, Asia with ING Financial Markets, based in Singapore. After earning a Ph.D. in economics from Georgetown University in 1986, Mr. Condon worked as an economist with the World Bank. He moved to Asia in 1992 to work in the World Bank’s Jakarta office.
In 1996 he left the World Bank to join Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong where he gained considerable exposure among investors and regional government officials during the Asian financial crisis. In 1999 Mr. Condon joined ING to lead its Asia ex-Japan financial markets research.
Mr. Condon is a sought-after commentator on economic and financial matters. He is frequently quoted by major financial news media, including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, New York Times as well as Reuters and Bloomberg. He appears regularly on the main financial news networks, CNBC and Bloomberg. He also is highly-rated in investor surveys for the accuracy of his views. In July Bloomberg named him the most accurate Asian currency forecaster for the first half of 2010.
