Beijing

The Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands are delighted to invite you to a CSR event on Tuesday May 26 2011:

Does Environmental protection fit my budget?
Round Table Discussion

Environmental protection and green policies is a hot topic. HQ makes elaborate strategies and spends big budgets on incorporating these elements in their mission.

But how to implement these measures in strategic growth countries such as China. Can environmental protection be a core value of a growth strategy in a booming market? How to balance HQ green recommendations with growth targets?

The Aviation industry is exactly such a booming market in China. Yet, the industry is also highly criticized for its environmental burden. CO2 reduction and carbon foot print are the most obvious, but there is more to be being green in aviation.

Air France KLM Beijing just moved into a new office. A “greener” office as they say. But how green is it really? Did time constraints and budget limitations compromise their green ambition?

During this round table discussion, moderator Albert Van Leeuwen, financial controller at Air France-KLM and responsible for executing the CSR strategy, will use his practical knowledge as a starting point to discuss green policies/environmental protection for companies operating in China and addressing issues such as:

- Doesn't Environmental protection cost resources, how can we create a wi- win situation
- What are the specific Environmental challenges for your organization in China?
- Who do I make sure Environmental protection is imbedded in my employees mind?
- How to implement the Environmental strategy of your HQ in China?
- What are the challenges of SME’s, are they different from the LE’s?

A small group will enable to quickly focus on the items that are most relevant for the participants and thus will create optimum learning opportunities. The benefits of the discussion will therefore to a large extent be determined by the active participation of the attendants.
