Beijing

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China are delighted to invite you to a CSR event on February 15:

Carbon Conscious Company

Is your company carbon conscious? What does it actually mean to be carbon conscious? Will your company lose or gain from it? What about carbon credits? How does China deal with this issue by way of regulations and controlling mechanisms? What are VERs and CERs and how to choose which suits your company the best? How can you - as an SME - contribute to a better world by working on your company carbon footprint?

Two experts on the carbon market, Sophie Chou (ICF International) and Darrell Barnes (Climate Action) will address the topic in depth and answer all the above mentioned questions and many more. Ms. Shou will introduce you to the carbon credit market. She will define carbon credits and explain the background, stakeholders, standards and regulations of the carbon market in general and in China. Mr. Darrell will focus more on Verified and Certified Emission Reductions (VERs and CERs). Next, he will explain how to use the carbon market in your company’s favour by implementing it in your CSR and marketing strategy. The speakers will make use of case studies to highlight the theory.
