Beijing

The Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands are delighted to invite you to a CSR event on Thursday April 21 2011:

Health & Safety on the Chinese Work Floor
Round Table Discussion

‘Four workers die every minute from work-related accidents or ill health across the globe. Work–related deaths, injuries and ill-health cost the world $1.25trillion every year - that’s 4% of the global GDP.’ (The Causes and Incidence of Occupational Accidents and Ill-Health Across the Globe’, April 28 2009, the British Safety Council (BSC))

Imagine what, apart from the human tragedy, this costs to your company. Not only in terms of fines, compensation and other financial costs, but also in terms of loss of company image, trust of your workforce…

To help you avoid health and safety accidents on the work floor in your company, BenCham and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands organise a round table discussion for and with high profiled participants.

In this round table discussion we will discuss issues with respect to managing health and safety in the companies of the participants, addressing questions such as:

•         What are the specific challenges in health and safety in your company?
•         Are there more differences or more similarities between the participating companies?
•         Is it a blessing or a curse to be in an SME instead of in a big company?
•         What is special in China and how important are these special elements?

A small group will enable to quickly focus on the items that are most relevant for the participants and thus will create optimum learning opportunities. The benefits of the discussion will therefore to a large extent be determined by the active participation of the attendants.
